GIF animate al tempo del COVID-19Stare a casa e allo stesso tempo essere connessi per continuare il proprio percorso formativo. Una sfida per il docente che deve inventare una nuova didattica al tempo del COVID-19 e per gli studenti che dovono seguire traiettorie inconsuete di partecipazione alle lezioni, alle ricerche, alle proposte. Stare a casa, fare quasi nulla, sono le armi per vincere questa strana battaglia in cui il terzo millennio ci ha arruolato: TUTTI. Il computer è diventato lo spazio dello stare insieme, dell'uscire con la mente lasciando fermo il corpo. Un qualcosa che i veterani della rete, come me, avevano già indagato, esplorato ed espresso in forme di arte che oggi ritornano con una forza insaspettata, proprio come le GIF animate.Nel mese di aprile 2020, gli studenti sono stati invitati a produrre una o più GIF animate che rappresentassero lo stato d'emergenza secondo la propria personale visione e interpretazione. Sono stati raccolti in un database oltre duecento contributi che sono diventati il substrato digitale per scrivere un algoritmo di proiezione online. Il risultato, ripercorrendo i concetti di "narrative database" di Lev Manovich e di "webcinema" di Nora Barry, è una composizione randomica che ogni quindici secondi seleziona dal database tre GIF, inquadrandole in un trittico che riempie lo schermo. La velocità intrinseca delle immagini, la naturale diversità della visione dei singoli studenti, trova un filo conduttore nella coesistenza sullo schermo. Nessuna interazione da parte dell'utente, se non quella di fermarsi ed entrare nello spirito del progetto che emergerà casualmente, sempre diverso, senza sosta. Benvenuti nel cyberspazio!prof. a challenge for teachers who have to create another new teaching method in the time of COVID-19 as well
as for students who have to follow unusual paths of participation to classes, researches and proposals.
Staying at home, doing almost nothing are the weapons to win this strange war in which the third
millennium has recruited us: ALL. Computer has become the place where it is possible to stay together, to
escape with the mind leaving body still. Something web veterans like me had already investigated, explored
and expressed in the form of art which return with an unexpected strength today just as animated GIF.
